The Headless Horseman

There was a man named Ichabod Crane
Who vanished, never to be seen again
He rode a path few will follow
At night in the glen of Sleepy Hallow

The legend of The Horseman is told
Frightening to both young and old
Spreading fear, raising dread
The Horseman that has no head

If you see a horseman on the road
Without a head, don't be slow
Make for the bridge where his power ends

Ichabod heard the story one night
At a party, and his face turned white
It was told by a man named Brom Bones
Who warned not to ride at night alone

Ichabod left after midnight
The full Moon was large and bright
On the road he felt despair
Ghosts seemed to lurk everywhere

If you see a horseman on the road
Without a head, don't be slow
Make for the bridge where his power ends
Beware The Headless Horseman!

Ichabod rode slowly and scared
When suddenly he became aware
Of a cloaked figure on his steed
Headless and terrifying

Ichabod took off in a flash
The horseman reared and leapt onto the path
Ichabod held on for dear life
Looking back, paralyzed with fright

Ride, ride, ride, ride
Get to the bridge and the other side
Ride, ride, ride, ride
Get to the bridge to save your life

The next day Ichabod was gone
They found his hat and horse after dawn
When they tell the tale of the ghostly race
There's a wicked smile on Brom Bones' face

Where oh where did Ichabod go?
Did he just run away? We'll never know
Some peolpe believe right there and then
He was taken by The Headless Horseman
