My Friendships

When I was 12, I went through puberty
My best friend was neglected
He loved someone who had no money
And his family didn't let him leave the house for months
He hurt me, why didn't they think about their son's happiness
But they cared more about social class

It was suffocating not being able to help him
I wanted to hug him and tell him everything was going to be okay
Even if he didn't stay, he could feel happy even for a moment

I just want my friendships
Feel comfortable with me, that you can open up to me
Let them know that I'm on their side
It's so tragic to feel insufficient that
I want my friends
They can love whoever they want
May they feel happy just like me
It's so sad to feel inferior that it hurts like a knife

When I had my first heartbreak
My friend helped me with a lot of support
But when she had hers, I couldn't help
Her family moved, just because the person she liked was a girl
We lost contact, we don't talk anymore
But I know she will hear this song
So: I hope you could have loved someone better
And that you have overcome

It was painful not knowing how she was
I wanted to advise her and tell her that she would be able to love
Even if she couldn't, she had the right to feel good
