The Silent Winter

Selfish prayers cry out for clarity
Servants and kings on the same throne
Will rule the ruins of the silent city

The Sun bids farewell
For those pale days
While stars wander in the sadness
Dawn comes and then it's gone
(And left their souls alone)
Men, with fear in their eyes
(Were overcome) by darkness

The fire burns their abodes
And, around the cruel flames
Each man is brought face to face
In a timid hope in their names
Many walk in different paths
While others accept their pain
Under the comfort of their defeat
Lament their struggles in vain

Then, on the gray horizon
The silent winter is coming!
Then, on the gray horizon

The war, for a moment, surrendered
Amidst a theater of colorless infamy
The lovers had no chance of parting
Were killed by a common enemy!

Guts satiate the vile hunger
Dogs hunt their owners
Except one, faithfully chained
Protect what's left of the others

In a famine in the gray land
A brave friend with sad rejection
In pain, it licked its master's hands
That did not answer his affection
Enemies find themselves condemned
In the hot embers of the night
They touch the holy pieces left behind
While they profane in the twilight
Then, at gray horizon
The silent hell is coming!

The pale light reclined in your eyes
Exposing the images of the sick time
With faith ever more in decline
Only loneliness, then an empty life

Without the heat of the morning
Without the bounty of planting
Without the delight of wealth
Just a perfect place for death

Only the deep water remained
And nothing moved in its silent core
Where ships without nauts roam
For then an abode for nevermore

The dead waves, the still winds
The clouds perish in stagnation
